Welcome to the cutting-edge of uphill cycling
and world's most famous ascents of each of the continents
Colle dell'Agnello / Col Agnel is one of the highest passes in the Alps connecting Italian Piedmont with France. In 2008 the pass was part of the route of Tour de France. At the specified visit in June 2008 the pass was closed from Italy, but rideable according to information of the local administration (always good to have an Italian speaking trainee in the office at home...)
Start: Casteldelfino 1,296m
Elevation profile including return way
Departure in Casteldelfino
After some 14km distance and at an altitude level of 1,800m behind the village of Chianala is closing time as a start. The pass is closed from the Italian side, but supposed to be rideable!
Clear ride towards France
Far and wide no cars - cycling pleasure at its best!
Somewhere uphill is the summit
This little construction side was reason for blocking the road. Smoothly to ride with a roadbike!
Peak of the roadway: To the left direction the descent to France, to the right the ascent from Italy.
