Welcome to the cutting-edge of uphill cycling
and world's most famous ascents of each of the continents
Insider tip in Hungary: An excellently paved road with little traffic and a moderate gradient leads up to the highest mountain in the country. The climb is done quickly, but the winding descent back to the starting point is one of the most attractive of its kind.
Start: Matrafüred 372m
The first eight kilometres are moderate, then it branches off much steeper to the summit.
Start in Matrafüred
Newly asphalted road surface
Very little traffic for kilometres
Until you turn right at this point towards the summit of the Kekes.
With changed light conditions, the climb is now a little steeper through the forest.
There are a few beautiful hairpin bends.
And finally you stand at a fence on the summit. A large television tower "decorates" the summit up here.
To the left, there is another small gravel path. There is the official summit stone - the highest mountain in Hungary.
